Water Outage or Contamination

If there is no water or water appears unclean.

Scenario 1 (no water)
Procedures:
Daytime (weekdays), and Evenings/Weekends/Holidays:

  1. Notify Facilities via e-mail (facilities@crescentschool.org), or phone call (416-999-1211)
  2. Facilities will
    1. Evaluate the situation
    2. Contact our service provider 
      1. Report the outage 
      2. Find out the estimated time of repair
    3. Notify the Executive Team with repair time to decide next steps regarding the students/faculty/staff and extended Crescent family, renters and guests.
      1. Executive Team will determine 
        1. Whether there is a need to relocate students/staff and others
        2. Whether to notify parents
        3. Whether to consider different food service arrangement 
    4. Repair will then be on the way
      Notify the Executive on progress and repair completion

Scenario 2 (unclean water)
Procedures:
Daytime (weekdays), and Evenings/Weekends/Holidays:

  1. Do not drink the water
  2. Notify Facilities via e-mail (facilities@crescentschool.org), or phone call (416-999-1211)
  3. Facilities will
    1. Evaluate the situation
    2. If deemed serious Facilities will shut down the school’s main water line 
    3. Contact our service provider 
      1. Report the outage 
      2. Find out the estimated time of repair
Daytime (weekdays):
  1. Notify the Executive Team with repair time to decide next steps regarding the students/faculty/staff and extended Crescent family, renters and guests.
    1. Executive Team will determine 
      1. Whether or not students/faculty/staff and others should be sent home
      2. Whether there is a need to relocate students and staff
      3. Whether to notify parents
      4. Whether to consider different food service arrangement 
Evenings/Weekends/Holidays:
  1. Decide next steps regarding students/staff and extended Crescent family, renters and guests.
    1. Contact Director of Facilities Lorne Rabinovitch at lrabinovitch@crescentschool.org or 647-218-6817
    2. If a rental client, contact the rental coordinator at rentals@crescentschool.org 
  2. Repair will then be on the way
  3. Notify the Executive Team on progress and repair completion
