Accidents and emergencies are unpredictable. While some emergencies may only need first aid care, others may require emergency medical attention. If unsure of the seriousness, dial 9-1-1. Medical emergencies involving any student or faculty/staff must be reported to the nurse using a medical incident report.
Procedures:
Daytime (weekdays), and Evenings/Weekends/Holidays:

Evaluate the scene to determine what assistance is needed.

Try to keep the area around the scene of emergency clear from spectators, etc.

Call 9-1-1, remain calm, and stay on the phone until the dispatcher hangs up. The dispatcher may provide instructions on how to care for the injured person.

Daytime (weekdays):

Reception (dial 0 from any school landline or 416-449-2556)

The school nurse (416-999-1828) during daytime (weekdays).

Evenings/Weekends/Holidays:

Report to facilities (416-999-1211).

If a coat or blanket is available, use it to cover the injured person.

Begin first aid and continue until paramedics arrive. Do not move the individual unless there is a danger of further injury.

Stay with the injured person until medical assistance arrives.

When the accident/incident is complete, please remember to complete the student or staff incident report and an AED Provider Call Report Form if an AED was used.
