The Character Education Curriculum in the Lower School is designed to provide learning experiences and opportunities for our young Boys of Promise that guide them on their lifelong journey towards becoming Men of Character.
Our Lower School has a theme-based character education curriculum. These themes spiral through the Lower School years and are integrated into every aspect of our Lower School culture. Specific character lessons are a part of home form meetings and health classes.
At the start of each year, every student is given a pin at an assembly following Bear Week. The pins are in the shape of a Crescent Shield/Crest and represent each boy’s promise to follow the core values of the school and to strive to be his best self in all that he does. Each grade has a Character Pledge that is recited at weekly assemblies, reinforcing for the boys their Crescent School culture, their community and their commitment to character.
