Summer Academics

    • Summer Learning
This summer, Crescent's Summer Academic Program is more flexible than ever to meet a variety of summer academic needs.
Crescent’s Summer Academic Program reflects our high academic standards and engaging content delivered by outstanding teachers. It is open to students from all independent or public schools.
 
We offer a flexible delivery format, including both virtual and on-campus options, two sessions and an accelerated Grade 10 History program. (On-campus courses will be offered if public health guidelines permit.)
 
One of the defining features of Crescent’s Summer Academic Program is the quality of learning learning that sets our students up for success when they return to school in the fall, be it high school or university.

  • Two summer sessions available

    Session 1:Session 2:
    Monday, June 14 to Friday, July 9*

    *Accelerated Grade 10 History runs from Monday, June 14 through Wednesday, June 30
    Monday, June 28 to Friday, July 23*

    *We will accommodate TDSB students who are not available until June 29

    There are no classes on Canada Day (Thursday, July 1).

    Typical Virtual Schedule:

    The daily virtual schedule may vary slightly depending on the course. Students should expect to be available for synchronous learning between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each day.

    Monday to Friday via Zoom
    Period 1 - Synchronous Learning8:30 - 9:00 a.m.
    Period 2 - Synchronous Learning      10:00 - 10:30 a.m.
    Period 3 - Synchronous Learning11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

    On-Campus Schedule:

  • Accelerated Grade 10 History Schedule

    Virtual Schedule:
    This course begins on Monday, June 14 and ends on Wednesday, June 30.

    Monday to Saturday via Zoom
    Period 1 - Synchronous Learning8:15 - 9:00 a.m.
    Period 2 - Synchronous Learning      9:30 - 10:15 a.m.
    Period 3 - Synchronous Learning10:45 - 11:30 a.m.
    Teacher Office Hours1:00 - 1:30 p.m.
  • Structure & Delivery

    Our on-campus courses are designed to offer small cohort experiences in our superb lab facilities for our science summer programs.

    Our virtual courses will follow a predictable schedule which includes live, interactive instruction via Zoom from an experienced teacher, large group discussion, small group collaboration, and structured independent work time.

    Student-learning will be assessed through a variety of subject-specific modes including quizzes, tests, assignments, and a final assessment.

    In addition to synchronous learning time, our students will have access to their teachers for one-on-one support during daily Zoom-office hours and via email. 
  • Technical Requirements

    strong internet connection and access to a printer are required for virtual course options.
  • A High Quality Learning Environment

    • Small classes (maximum Virtual class size is 16 students; maximum On-Campus class size is 12 students)
    • Excellent, experienced, enthusiastic faculty
    • Courses are taught and evaluated to Crescent School's high academic standards
    • In-class tests and assignments are typically marked and returned the following class
    • Teacher contact with parents via email as necessary
  • Fees

    Virtual Course fees: $1,695*

    On-Campus Course fees: $1,895*

    Accelerated Grade 10 History fee: $1,895*

    *Fees exclude the cost of textbooks and other course materials
