Welcome to Crescent's Lower School, where character education is part of everything we do with our young Boys of Promise.
The Lower School Academic Program is thoughtfully designed to support boys throughout their journey from the Primary grades (1–3) to the Junior grades (4–6).

Grounded in Crescent School's three pedagogies of active, experiential, and relational learning, our program provides an enriched educational experience that integrates academic excellence with character-infused competencies and our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Compassion. The boys are reminded of these values regularly and learn that these words resonate on a larger stage than the classroom, sports field or playground—they are infused in every aspect of our community.

All of our programs support our boys in reaching their goals and discovering their limitless potential. We believe in providing an intentional path for students to understand themselves as learners. Across the Lower School, our teachers employ best practices to educate boys while fostering intellectual growth, resilience, and character.

At every step, our teaching practice is informed by expert research on how boys learn.

Crescent's mission, Men of Character from Boys of Promise, is at the core of everything we do, because “a man of character is principled, wise, resilient and engaged.”

In the Lower School, your son will be embraced by a community that nurtures his unique talents, unlocking the door to learning and engaging him in his character development.
