  • Group Benefits

Employees who are employed by the School at least 61% FTE on a continuing basis are entitled to participate in the School’s group benefits programs which include coverage for health, dental, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, critical illness insurance and long-term disability. The full details are in the plan booklet and can
be accessed online via the Green Room. Health and dental premiums are paid for by the School; the employee is responsible for paying life insurance and long term disability insurance premiums.
  • Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan

Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (TPP) requires that all eligible employees participate in the Pension Plan. This includes Ontario College of Teachers-qualified teachers who are working in education in any capacity. The premium is determined by the Teachers’ Pension Plan Board and is paid by the employee through monthly payroll deductions which are matched by payments to the Plan by Crescent School.
  • Crescent School Group Pension / RRSP Plan

All regular employees who work at least 61% and who are not participating in the Teachers’ Pension Plan are eligible to join the Crescent Pension Plan. This is a defined contribution plan consisting of a voluntary RRSP contribution and a group registered pension plan (“RPP”). Employees may contribute up to 5% of earnings to the voluntary RRSP through payroll deductions. The School will match this contribution plus contribute an additional 3% to the employee’s group RPP. The employee has the option to contribute additional amounts to their RRSP through payroll deduction up to their applicable RRSP contribution limit, however, the School will not match these additional contributions.
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)

Life Works provides a confidential, voluntary counselling and referral service available to employees and their immediate family members at no charge. The program is designed to help with personal or work-related issues before they become more serious. Please visit the Green Room People & Culture tile for more information.

If accepted, tuition for the son will be reduced by 50% and the enrollment fee will be waived. All other expenses will be at the regular rate. (In order to receive the tuition discount and the entry fee waiver, the parent/grandparent must be the custodial parent or guardian.) Employees may also apply for additional finance assistance through the Enrolment Office if required.
