CCBE Releases 2024–2025 Annual Report

The Crescent Centre for Boys’ Education (CCBE) recently released its 2024–2025 Annual Report. Now in its sixth year, the CCBE continues to deepen its role as a catalyst for evidence-informed practice in boys’ education.

A central development this year has been the reimagining of the Centre’s work into three interrelated domains: Research and Partnerships, Professional Learning, and Community Education. Together, these domains tell the story of a community committed to curiosity, collaboration, and courageous leadership in boys’ education.

This year’s report captures the expanding reach of CCBE programming, including a robust slate of Faculty Action Research projects, the launch of the Crescent Student Research Institute (CSRI) for Middle School boys, and a wide range of professional learning initiatives designed to strengthen teaching and learning across the school. The report also celebrates Crescent’s growing presence on the international stage, most significantly through the International Boys’ Schools Coalition (IBSC), where Crescent faculty shared their work and contributed to global conversations on boys’ well-being, belonging, and character development.
Headmaster Michael Fellin reflects on the growing significance of the CCBE and its impact on Crescent School and the broader community of boys’ educators. “The CCBE has entered an exciting new chapter aligned with the launch of Breakthrough 2030,” says Mr. Fellin. “A key objective of our new strategic plan is to elevate the CCBE as a hub for professional learning, faculty and student research, and parent education, and the CCBE is well on its way to achieving this ambitious goal.”

Executive Director Dr. Sandra Boyes emphasizes how the CCBE continues to strengthen the Centre’s foundations while pushing into new territory. “2024–2025 was marked by rigorous inquiry and meaningful collaboration among our students and faculty,” said Dr. Boyes. “We remain committed to deepening this work and to sustaining a bright and innovative future for boys’ education.”
