On campus or online, Crescent Camps encourage learning for girls and boys through creativity, innovation, collaboration and leadership.
About Our Camps
Crescent Camps are open to all children ages 4–13 years. They can be mixed and matched to suit your family's schedule.

Campers will enjoy:

  • Engaging programs that reflect Crescent School’s excellence in technology, business, leadership and the arts
  • Leadership by highly qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Head Instructors, assisted by counsellors and volunteers

What campers need to participate:
  • Campers and Parents must consent to our Code of Conduct 
  • Virtual Camp participants will need access to a computer, internet and Zoom and must consent to our Student & Parent Responsible Use Guidelines for Remote Learning

Covid-19 Vaccine Policy:
It is mandatory for all on-site campers aged 5 years and older to be fully vaccinated by a Government of Canada-approved vaccine, prior to the start of camp. Please have a copy of your proof of both vaccinations available to send to our camp nurse in June. Our vaccination policy for those under the age of 5 is to be determined, as per Government of Canada guidelines.

Arts & Media Camps

Developing creative imagination

    Create, design, and have fun! This co-ed camp will strengthen campers’ artistic confidence as they explore a variety of art forms. Campers will stretch their imaginations with drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture design throughout the week. An art showcase will celebrate the campers’ creative achievements for friends and family at the end of the week.

  • Budding Architects (Ages 8–9)

    Imagining, designing and building!
    This camp engages girls and boys in the basic concepts and processes of architecture. They'll develop their creativity and imagination as they explore visual thinking, urban and environmental planning and design, scale and structure. Campers will demonstrate their new skills using drawing, collage and modelling with different materials.

  • Comic Book & Animation Creation (Ages 10–11)

    Creating characters, comic book design, and storytelling! This co-ed camp will teach campers how to make their very own cartoons and comics, from “newspaper funnies” to their own superhero comic series! Campers will also learn about animation, from its origins in the zoetrope and hand-drawn animations, to collage animation, as well as developments in computer animation today! By analyzing current styles used in television and films, campers will be encouraged to explore these unique ways of storytelling, by learning how to write and storyboard their own animations!

  • Comic Book Creation (Ages 8–9 & 10–11) VIRTUAL

    Creating characters, comic book design, and storytelling! This co-ed camp will teach campers how to make their very own cartoons and comics, from “newspaper funnies” to their own superhero comic series! Campers will learn everything from creating a backstory for their characters to learning popular techniques and artistic comic book styles, such as caricature, manga, and 3-D comics!

  • Photography (Ages 12–13)

    Find your creative vision! This co-ed camp offers young people insight into how to use a camera, how to take the perfect photograph and develop their work digitally. Campers will create a portfolio of images and produce mounted prints to show their growth as photographers by the end of the week. Campers will use both their own photo-taking device and our DSLR cameras.

  • Bulls & Bears: Investing 101 (Ages 12–13)

    Cost: $495 ($396, 4-day week*)

    Buy low, sell high! Campers will have a blast learning about investing with a hands-on, age-appropriate curriculum, filled with games, lessons, and much more! Campers will learn about why you should invest, stocks and bonds and how we trade them, other types of investments, how to value investments, basic financial ratios and concepts, and loads more. All of these concepts will help foster good future decision-making, financial independence and security, and self-confidence. There is no better way to spend your summer. After all, the best investment you can make is in yourself!

  • Model UN (Ages 12–13)

    It is more important than ever for countries to come together to address global issues. Challenge yourself this summer to think and respond to issues from a different perspective. This camp offers a crash course into the purpose and function of the United Nations and will finish with an age-appropriate Model UN simulation. Campers will be asked to think critically, research, debate and work on their communication skills. Campers will work alongside a partner to research and represent their assigned country in our Model UN simulation. No experience required!

  • Money Matters (Ages 10–11)

    Money matters! Campers will have fun while learning how money works and developing good financial habits, an essential life skill for independence and ambition.  This camp engages young people in games and activities that make it fun to learn about money. Earning, spending, saving, investing, borrowing, budgeting and banking will be covered in age-appropriate learning that will foster smart money habits and the ability to make informed financial decisions.

    Team-building, Nature, and Sports! Active Explorer camp offers our younger campers the opportunity to enjoy the best that Crescent’s property has to offer. From obstacle courses, hikes through our nature trail, problem-solving activities, and a variety of sports, campers will leave with a newfound appreciation for the world around them and the values of teamwork!

    Have fun with science! Campers will have fun learning about science through interactive activities and experiments that explore their natural creativity and curiosity. Activities may include puzzles, volcanoes, rockets, forensics and more!

    Explore nature and learn survival skills! Campers will develop and challenge their wilderness abilities, learn about sustainable practice and develop leadership skills. Throughout the week, campers will live and play in nature and the great outdoors—Crescent’s incredible ravine. Campers will learn how to survive and thrive in the great outdoors, by building fire and shelter, sourcing food and water, as well as challenging themselves in outdoor activities. Campers will earn beads for successful challenges as well as have the opportunity to lead their fellow campers in activities.

  • AR/VR Creation Using Co-Spaces (Ages 10–13) VIRTUAL

    Step into a different reality of your own creation! Campers will use Co-Spaces to create and code an AR/VR experience to share with others. They will learn the basics of block coding and bring in 3D models from other programs. Code, collaborate, and use your imagination to immerse yourself in the experience!

    Intermediate Minecraft! Attendees will build on their understanding of concepts used in coding for Minecraft and other programming languages while improving their teamwork and communication skills. By the end of the program, participants will understand, and be able to use programming ideas and structures. They will learn how and when to use variables, constants, coordinates, and loops. Campers will be able to use these tools to act quickly and smoothly in their Minecraft worlds and will be able to apply what they have learned when dealing with other programming languages.

    For beginners or recreational roboticists! This co-ed camp gives young people an opportunity to engage in science, technology, engineering and math to build robots in a supportive and challenge-based setting. Mentored by highly qualified robotics staff, campers will use VEX IQ robotics kits to develop strong technical, assembly and project management skills. Campers will gain experience in collaboration, competition, sportsmanship, leadership, problem-solving and critical thinking.

  • Make It or Break It: Level 1 (Ages 12–13)

    Building and taking apart at its best! In this hands-on program, campers will develop skills using hand tools and machinery through project-based learning, culminating in building their own catapult! Experience the use of the "six simple machines" through project work and skill development, and take apart, or "break into" various electronic components and appliances, to learn what each part does!

  • Make It or Break It: Level 2 (Ages 12–13)

    Building and taking apart at its best! A hands-on skills camp for campers who have previously taken Make It or Break It 1. Campers will use their developed skills using hand tools and machinery, and once again apply them to project-based learning. Projects may include building your own Ballista, taking apart engines, and building an engine model.

  • Minecraft for Beginners (Ages 10–11)

    Learn about the best of Minecraft for Beginners! Campers will learn about design, coding, problem identification, and resolution while building teamwork and communication skills. By the end of the week, campers will be able to develop and build parts of the Minecraft world and take action in it, while laying a foundation of computing and coding concepts that they will be able to use in computer programming they do in the future. This camp includes indoor/outdoor camp games and activities throughout the week.

  • Semi-Private Coding (Ages 12–13) VIRTUAL

    Cost: $225

    Semi-Private Coding! Tutored by a highly qualified computer science teacher, students will develop their skills in their preferred choice of programming language (Java or Python). This personalized learning session is offered to students who are new to programming. Students should have a Windows/OSX computer with a functional webcam.

    Robotics coding! In the Introduction to VEXCode Coding camp, campers will learn basic logical flow control, sensors, keyboard control, and other coding knowledge through programming VEX robots and completing tasks in a virtual environment.

    Take your Robotics abilities to the next level! This co-ed camp provides campers the opportunity to strengthen competition skills with topics from the 2022 VEX IQ Challenge. It’s a concentrated week in VEX IQ competition, and campers will also participate in fun activities that focus on transferable skills such as creativity, team-building and collaboration.

    Immerse yourself in French! This one-week program offers campers the opportunity to develop French language skills through interactive lessons, games and activities.

    Immerse yourself in Mandarin! This two-week, half-day co-ed camp is for young people who want to learn basic Mandarin vocabulary and phrases. Led by Crescent faculty, campers will explore the language through art, drama, storytelling, cultural exploration, games and other activities. Students will learn basic phrases and vocabulary of Mandarin for everyday life through various theme-based learning activities. Students will also learn Chinese characters input methods and gain greater insight into Chinese culture and its influence.
