New Zealand's Christ's College Soccer Teams Visit Crescent

Crescent recently welcomed two junior and senior soccer teams (or, as our guests would say, football teams) from New Zealand for some friendly competition and a snapshot of life at Crescent. The boys from Christ’s College joined the Terry Fox run, dropped in on a robotics lesson, and took a phys-ed class so that they could play some American football.

The day culminated with two exhibition games pitting their junior and senior teams against Crescent. A highlight of the event was watching the visiting boys perform their pre-game school haka with awesome intensity. The senior game ended in a tie, while the junior game was won by the Christ's College boys.

“Generous Crescent families and staff helped to make the trip a success by opening their homes to the visiting students,” says Athletics Director Fraser Bertram. “I was thrilled to receive glowing messages from hosts who enjoyed the opportunity to welcome these boys into our community.”
