New Parents Invited to Rise and Dine

Parents new to Crescent are joining Headmaster Fellin and other School administrative team members for breakfast. Rise and Dine is a new initiative designed to help onboard new families. These grade-specific breakfast events allow new parents to meet the Crescent administrators who will impact their sons’ Crescent journey in a more intimate setting.

The first Rise and Dine events welcomed Grade 3 parents. Headmaster Fellin greeted attendees and provided tips on how parents can best partner with the school. Deputy Headmaster Nick Kovacs spoke to Crescent’s relevant and future-ready curriculum, character-infused education and customized signature experiences — the three foundational concepts of the Crescent Diploma. Dr. Sandra Boyes, Executive Director of the Crescent Centre for Boys’ Education, addressed the CCBE’s three-pronged mandate to conduct and share research on leading practices in boys’ education, design professional learning programs for faculty and staff, and lead the charge in parent education. Finally, Chief Advancement Officer Jamie Lougheed spoke about the legacy of philanthropy and the lasting bonds of the alumni brotherhood.

Parents could meet and mingle with other new parents in their son’s grade while being treated to an elegant SAGE breakfast featuring yogurt parfaits, frittatas, cream cheese and smoked salmon.

Five Rise and Dine breakfast events are planned through October 5.
