Construction Hits New Heights

The Our Way Forward campaign hit a high point—literally and symbolically—at a beam-raising ceremony held on October 14, where the final structural beam of the new Alumni Community Hall was raised into place. “It's a major milestone in the construction of our new Alumni Community Hall, and we celebrated with the people who have gotten us this far,” says Jamie Lougheed, Chief Advancement Officer.

Board members, top donors to Our Way Forward, and their families gathered onsite for the ceremony. Attendees were greeted by Headmaster Michael Fellin, who spoke passionately about the strength behind the school’s foundations.

“Everybody here today, directly or indirectly, has gotten us to this point,” said Headmaster Fellin. “Right now, we're standing on the very foundation that will allow us, in a few short weeks, to add the structure, the roof, the glass, and more,” said Fellin. “This project is a great example of what Crescent is about… giving boys a solid foundation, not just for the next level, not just for university, but for life.”

Guests took turns signing the massive steel beam before watching it be lifted into place, symbolizing not just the growth of Crescent’s campus, but the evolution of its mission to shape Men of Character.

Andrew Dalton, CEO of The Dalton Company, which is leading construction, emphasized the significance of this moment: “This space isn’t just a dining hall; this is where people will gather. It’s important to us to contribute to something that's so significant to Crescent School. Over the coming months, you will start to see the building really take shape, and we're ready to go.”
