For the second year in a row, the School used the summer break to renew the spaces students use every day. This replenishment work was distinct from, yet took place alongside, the completion of the School’s new wing, which was funded through the Our Way Forward campaign. It also occurred without restricting Crescent’s robust Camps and Summer Academic programming.
“Caring for our campus is both a practical responsibility and a reflection of the value we place on the everyday experience of our boys,” says Headmaster Michael Fellin. “Through
Breakthrough 2030, we have committed to strengthening the infrastructure that supports school life and bringing the same standard of quality to our existing spaces as we do to new ones.”
The changes reach across campus. Every Lower School classroom was fully renovated, with new flooring, ceilings, windows, millwork, furniture, and finishes. We also custom-built brand new classrooms for our Grade 1 and 2 students.
Upper School hallways and washrooms received new flooring, windows, doors, ceilings, and fixtures, building on similar work completed in the Lower School last summer. Classroom renovations are planned for the Upper School next year.
The Lower Gym has a new ceiling, while both the Lower and Upper School drama studios now have Marley flooring, a specialized surface for theatre and dance. Outdoors, the Teng Family Courtyard and the adjacent plaza leading to the new Loggia entrance were regraded, relevelled, restoned, and landscaped.
“We are fortunate to be able to make this kind of sustained investment across our campus,” says Fellin. “It reflects careful financial planning and a clear commitment to the whole student experience. As we welcome our community into the new wing, we’re equally pleased to see renewed classrooms, learning spaces, and outdoor gathering areas throughout the campus.”
