Crescent Welcomes New Parents to Campus

Parents brand new to Crescent School with sons who started in September were welcomed on campus for the very first time earlier this month. These were the first in-person parent events since March 2020, due to the school’s no visitor policy in place since the start of the pandemic. Spirits were high as these parents were finally able to visit the campus, and connect with faculty and one another.

The events were carefully planned with guidelines that made the in-person gatherings safe. “We wanted to show parents a glimpse of what life is like for their boys,” says Director of Advancement Jill Cannon. “Meeting in person is a game changer.” Attendees heard from Headmaster Michael Fellin, Assistant Headmaster Nick Kovacs and CPA President Magda Koinis-Tsagogeorgas. Their words shared themes about the importance of community and the partnership between parents and the school, as well as Crescent’s focus on character-infused education. Campus tours led by the Heads and Assistant Heads of each division were a great success, providing parents with an outdoor glimpse into the “day in the life of Crescent students”.

The events were well attended, and well-received. “The response from the attendees has been overwhelming,” shares Ms. Koinis-Tsagogeorgas. “It's heartwarming to see that parent engagement within the Crescent community continues to thrive.” More on-campus parent events are planned in the coming weeks.
