A strategic plan provides a blueprint for the actions an organization takes to drive it forward. In the first year of
Breakthrough 2030, the School advanced work across its four strategic pillars—Academics, People, Community, and Campus—and recently published a
Year One Achievements report to share its progress.
“We have to keep asking whether our strategic focus reflects what our boys and our School need,” says Headmaster Michael Fellin. “That means revisiting the plan each year, responding to market opportunities, and being accountable for the progress we make.”
The 2025–2026 school year brought several milestones. Crescent concluded Our Way Forward, the most ambitious fundraising campaign in its history, surpassing its $65 million goal. The School’s endowment, which supports Student Financial Assistance, reached $30 million. This year, financial assistance is helping 53 boys attend Crescent, whose families would otherwise be unable to afford it.
Work also moved forward in classrooms and across campus. Crescent expanded its educational continuum in preparation for the arrival of Grades 1 and 2 in September 2026. The School developed an AI literacy framework to guide students’ learning in an evolving world. Faculty and staff leadership development grew, supported in part by the Crescent Centre for Boys’ Education.
Meanwhile, construction of the new school wing neared completion, and summer renovations renewed existing learning spaces. Together, the projects prepared Crescent to welcome students into new and improved facilities at the start of the school year.
“Some of these strategic achievements are immediately visible; others are changes in how we teach, support, and plan,” says Fellin. “All of them contribute to the experience we want for every boy at Crescent.”
