Getting To Know Head Boy Finley Adams ’27

What is your favourite activity/hobby?
Playing sports with my family and friends, especially shinny and soccer.

What is the most important thing you've read?
When I was a little kid, there was a book in my house called The History of the World. I absolutely loved it—I read it all the time.  It told the history of Babylon, the first civilizations, and religion. It sparked my interest in history and social studies.

Do you have any pets?
 I have a dog named Copper. He's a Cavapoo.

What is your favourite way to spend a Saturday?
Gotta start by sleeping in.  Sometimes I have brunch with my family, which is always really nice. Then I’ll work out and get some homework done.  Later, I’ll spend some time with friends, and then watch a movie or a TV show.

What is your favourite holiday?
Christmas has always been my favourite. It's a time when my family comes together. I used to live far from a lot of my extended family, and we would spend the holidays together, so it means a lot to me.

What is your favourite song?
My favourite song since I was probably seven or eight years old has been Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars. It’s been a bit of a theme song to me.

What is your most treasured possession?
When I had my confirmation a few years ago, my family gave me a necklace.  It represents me, my family, and my faith.

I really want to learn to dunk a basketball.

What do you want to be "when you grow up?"
I  love history and politics, and I love learning about the world and foreign cultures. I think something in that space would be really interesting. Maybe I’ll work in government or in a business with international implications.

What was one of the most memorable projects you did at Crescent?
In AP seminar last year, I did a project about connection, how it’s fading, and how important it is. I never realized that connection is quantifiable, and that it's such a huge issue right now. It's had a really big impact on how I live my life. If I'm having a bad day, I try texting or calling a friend or family member. If someone near me is having a rough time, I reach out.

What is your favourite memory of Crescent School?
Last year's rugby season was a really good time. We were fortunate enough to win CISAA, which was awesome. I was growing as a player but also as a friend and a leader on that team, and I got to know all the Grade 12s. They were such great leaders and role models to me.

What advice would you give to a Lower School Crescent student today?
Challenge yourself in every way possible, especially socially. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and inspire those around you to do the same.. It will make you feel great and give you a sense of accomplishment.
