Record Attendance for Open House Events

Crescent opened its doors to prospective families keen to learn what makes the school special at Open House events on October 25 and 26. After two years of holding Open House virtually, families expressed their enthusiasm for in-person experiences by attending in droves. With over 500 registrants across two days, these events were the most well-attended in Crescent’s history.

Student ambassadors led families on tours, winding through classrooms and hallways as they shared what it’s like to attend Crescent. They could be overheard talking about the many leadership opportunities the school has to offer, showing families where they learn about their favourite school subject, or asking prospective students what excites them about Crescent. In turn, touring families had the opportunity to easily ask questions within these small groups.

The tours wound back to the CCL lobby where a Character-in-Action expo was set up. Families were able to meet with faculty and enthusiastic students from our five signature co-curricular programs: the Arts, Athletics, Business, Outreach and Robotics. Also present to answer questions were members of Crescent Student Services and many CPA parent ambassadors.

The Open House concluded in the CCL Theatre, with a formal welcome by the Heads of School. The audience heard from a panel of students who answered questions about leadership opportunities, co-curricular activities and their favourite meal in the dining hall. In his closing remarks, Headmaster Fellin shared the impact that good educators can have on students. “A boys’ school changed my life,” he said. “Someone there helped me see something that I didn’t see in myself.”
