Celebrating Student Milestones

Grade 12 graduation made a triumphant in-person return on June 17. New to Crescent’s year-end celebrations were dedicated graduation ceremonies for students in Grades 6 and 8 to mark their transitions into the Middle and Upper Schools.

Grade 6 and 8 graduations took place in the MS/US Library while the Grade 12 graduation was held under the Grand Tent in the Formal Garden. There was a joyful atmosphere at each event as students were honoured for their accomplishments. “Every student had their moment on stage to shake their Home Form teacher’s hand and receive their diploma,” says Assistant Head of Lower School Ian Fisher.

Afterward, staff, families, and grads alike enjoyed refreshments and time to celebrate with their community. “It was a great way to end the year for our Grade 8s and a meaningful event for their parents as well,” says Head of Middle School Ryan Bell.

In his address to the graduating class, Head of Upper School Richard Prosser shared life advice he had gotten from his own father. He encouraged students to practice self-reflection and never to sell themselves short. “You have made me a better educator and a better person,” he said. “And you have made Crescent a better school because of your presence.”

Other end-of-year events that took place were a special House Day to present the Lower School banners to students in Grades 3, 4 and 5, and a family breakfast for students and parents in Grade 7. Crescent’s annual Prize Day took place via video broadcast, recognizing student accomplishments on their journey towards becoming Men of Character.
