Where The Class of 2021 Is Heading

Crescent School's newest Men of Character, the 97 members of the Class of 2021, are now preparing for the first steps of their post-graduation journey.

“We are so proud of all our graduates, who persevered under the stressful conditions imposed by the pandemic in their final years at Crescent. They also faced more competition for university applications than ever before. Next year, as they explore their interests in a variety of post-secondary plans, we know the resilience they developed this year will serve them well,” says Alison Champ, Guidance & University Counsellor.

“We are confident that our students are ready for the rigours and challenges that the next chapter of their lives will bring,” says Guidance & University Counsellor Aggie Maksimowska. “They proved that they can go with the flow, adapt, and change, but most of all, they are pursuing their interests and their passions.”  

Here are some highlights of the post-secondary plans for the Class of 2021:

Noteworthy Scholarships
More than $1 million in Canadian and American scholarships was offered to the Class of 2021 Grads. 

Jonathan Hirsh receives the Hellmuth Scholarship at Huron University College.
This scholarship is awarded each year to just 10 students who demonstrate academic excellence and engagement in student life through community leadership, volunteer service and a passion for the arts, athletics etc. The Hellmuth Scholarship provides full tuition for four years, residence at Huron University College and membership in the Huron Scholars Group.

Three Grads receive scholarships to play golf while studying business at American universities.
  • Connor Kreppner received the Second Century Scholarship, Millsaps College (Mississippi). He will play for the NCAA Division 3 Golf Team while studying for his BBA/MBA, with the scholarship award of $38,000 USD per year.
  • Matthew Peesker received the Jack and Camille Garey Scholarship, Southwestern University (Texas). He will play for the NCAA Division 3 Golf Team (ranked 12th in the U.S.) while studying Business, with the scholarship award of $31,000 USD per year plus an award of up to $10,000 for two high-impact experiences (study abroad, internships) during his time at Southwestern.
  • Ty Stansfield received the Michael G Lugar Scholarship and Golf Scholarship, University of Indianapolis (Indiana). He will play for the NCAA Division 2 Golf team while studying for his BBA/MBA, with the scholarship award of $38,000 USD per year.
Head Boy Goes To Harvard
Tega Ajise, Crescent’s Head Boy for 2020-2021, will attend Harvard College to study computer science.

Gap Years
Three Grads are taking gap years to focus on their athletic careers. James Wilson will be playing soccer in Europe, Brandon Cohen deferred his acceptance to Western University to play hockey, and Matthew Diduck will play baseball with the Ontario Blue Jays in Florida.
