Bruce is keeping Crescent’s Dentonia Park-era history alive
Bruce Burgess ’57 received the Alumni Community Leadership Award, which honours alumni who have demonstrated tremendous volunteer service to Crescent.

Bruce is the longest-standing member of the Crescent Alumni Executive, having joined as a Member-at-Large in 2004, representing the alumni who attended Crescent when its campus was located at Dentonia Park. Bruce’s support and commitment to the Crescent community is unwavering. He partnered with the Alumni Office starting in 2002 to plan many successful Dentonia Luncheons and has been instrumental in keeping Crescent’s Dentonia Park-era history alive. Over time, Bruce has been a generous donor to Crescent School. He developed the 2005 DVD Crescent - Past & Present which includes footage from the Dentonia Campus, showcasing Crescent’s history starting in 1930. He commissioned the 2007 painting, Field Day by Rob Vanderhorst, which is displayed in the front reception area of Crescent’s Manor House and he supported the production of Crescent’s centennial book, A Crescent Century, in 2013.
