Summer Camp Programs 2018

Our camp programs reflect Crescent School’s excellence in robotics, athletics, business, leadership and the arts.
All Crescent camps are designed in modules of one or two weeks. Campers can sign up for multiple weeks in one program, or mix-and-match programs for a varied camp experience. See our Summer Calendar for program dates.

Each camp program will be led by a highly qualified, experienced Head Instructor, who is assisted by instructors and counsellors.

Lunch Options
  • Campers are welcome to bring their own packed lunches to camp.
  • Our Camp Lunch Option ($35/week) provides your camper with a healthy selection of soup, salad and sandwiches Monday through Thursday, and includes a Pizza Pizza lunch on Friday.
  • Our Friday Pizza Option ($7/week) allows your camper to enjoy a Pizza Pizza lunch on Friday.

  • Budding Architects Camp (8-11 years)

    Ages: 8-11 years
    Offered in weeks of: July 9 (1-week program)

    Highlights: This co-ed camp engages campers in the basic concepts and processes of architecture. They’ll develop their creativity and imagination as they explore visual thinking, urban and environmental planning, and design, scale and structure. Campers will demonstrate their new skills using drawing, collage and modelling with different materials.

    Highlights: This co-ed camp allows young people to explore architectural concepts, designs and processes. They’ll showcase their learning by creating their own structure or space using design software.

  • Interdisciplinary Theatre Arts Camp (10-14 years)

    Ages: 10-14 years
    Offered in weeks of: July 3 & July 9 (2-week program)
    Hours: 9 a.m to 3:30 p.m.
    Highlights: This co-ed camp offers young people a fun opportunity to experience all aspects of creating and presenting an original theatre production. Campers will explore acting, voice work, costuming and set design, and be introduced to the technical aspects of staging a play. A performance for friends and family will be the camp’s grand finale. (Note: Camp is not offered on July 2 due to the Canada Day holiday.)

Innovation & Technology Camps

  • Innovation & Technology Camp (10-14 years)

    Ages: 10-14 years
    Offered in weeks of: June 25, July 3, July 9, July 16, July 23 (1-week programs)
    Hours: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    Highlights: This co-ed camp offers an opportunity for young people at all skill levels to work collaboratively to design, program and build a robot for a weekly competition. Mentored by highly qualified robotics staff, campers will use VEX IQ robotics kits and CNC Routers to develop strong technical, assembly and project management skills. Campers will gain experience in collaboration, competition, sportsmanship, leadership, problem-solving and critical thinking. (Note: Camp is not offered on July 2 due to the Canada Day holiday.)

  • Advanced Innovation & Technology Camp (12-14 years)

    Ages: 12-14 years
    Offered in weeks of: July 30 (1-week program)
    Hours: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    Highlights: This co-ed camp is for young people who have acquired skills in VEX IQ, design, technical, assembly and project management and are ready to move to the next level of robotics. Using their proficiency in CAD, VEX IQ and CNC routers, campers will design and build more complex robots that will give them a potential head start for school robotics programs. Campers will gain experience in collaboration, competition, sportsmanship, leadership, problem-solving and critical thinking.
    Prerequisite: One week of Innovation & Technology Camp / Advanced VEX IQ skills

    Highlights: This co-ed camp offers a varied program of fun physical activities to help young people develop their sports skills. Using Crescent’s superb athletics facilities, campers will enjoy scrimmages and drills in basketball, dodgeball, lacrosse, volleyball, floor hockey and other sports. In addition to skill development, the camp will focus on fun, teamwork and sportsmanship.

    Highlights: This co-ed camp, led by Toronto Rush athletes, is for young people who want to develop their Ultimate Frisbee skills and performance levels. The Spirit of the Game – including leadership, sportsmanship, honesty, integrity and gender equity – will be emphasized.

    Highlights: This co-ed camp, led by elite Toronto Rush athletes, is for Ultimate Frisbee players who want to take their game to the next level.     Highlights: This co-ed camp offers a range of fun activities that will challenge and thrill campers. Designed and led by Crescent staff, the challenges will include escape rooms, art/improv studios, mad science labs, obstacle courses and survival field, requiring campers to use ingenuity and teamwork.

    Highlights: This co-ed camp engages young people in games and activities that make it fun to learn about money. Earning, spending, saving, investing, borrowing, budgeting and banking will be covered in age-appropriate learning that will foster smart money habits and the ability to make informed financial decisions.

    Highlights: This co-ed camp is for young people who want to learn basic Mandarin vocabulary and phrases. Led by Crescent faculty, campers will explore the language through art, drama, storytelling, cultural exploration, games and other activities.

  • Debate Camp (11-16 years)

    Ages: 11-16 years
    Offered in weeks of: July 30 (1-week program)
    Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    Highlights: Debate Camp has operated academic-enrichment summer camps across Canada since 2002. They empower students with the skills of effective communication and teamwork through debate and public speaking. The goal is to create informed and articulate global citizens in a fun and exciting learning environment. All ability levels are welcome. Registration fees include a daily hot lunch. Supervision until 5 p.m. every day is also available free of additional charge. Please note: this camp is offered at Crescent by Debate Camp Canada. Register for Debate Camp here.
