On campus or online, Crescent Camps encourage creativity, innovation, collaboration and leadership.
About Our Camps
Crescent Camps are open to boys and girls ages 6 and up from any school. They can be mixed and matched to suit your family's schedule.

Campers will enjoy:

What campers need to participate:
  • Campers and Parents must consent to our Code of Conduct 
  • Virtual Camp participants will need access to a computer, internet and Zoom and must consent to our Student & Parent Responsible Use Guidelines for Remote Learning

    Highlights: Students will be introduced to basic music theory as well as the foundations of songwriting and music composition. A variety of musical genres will be explored allowing the students to understand and recognize how different genres compose music. The students will then work on a final project of composing their own musical piece.

  • Animation Creation Camp (On Campus)

    Highlights: In this immersive camp, girls and boys will learn a variety of animation techniques and styles, building their own unique collection of stories and artworks. Campers will learn about animation from its origins in the zoetrope and hand-drawn animations, to collage animation, as well as developments in computer animation today, using Procreate software. By analyzing current styles used in television and films, campers will be encouraged to explore these unique ways of storytelling, by learning how to write and storyboard their own animations.
    Campers will also enjoy supervised time outdoors, exploring Crescent's ravine and using the low-ropes course with a certified instructor once a week (weather permitting).

    Highlights: Imagining, designing and building! Budding Architects Camp engages girls and boys in the basic concepts and processes of architecture. They'll develop their creativity and imagination as they explore visual thinking, urban and environmental planning and design, scale and structure. Campers will demonstrate their new skills using drawing, collage and modelling with different materials.

Campers will learn how to make their very own cartoons and comics, from “newspaper funnies” to their own superhero comic series. Campers will learn everything from creating a backstory for their characters to learning popular techniques and artistic comic book styles, such as caricature, manga and 3-D comics.

    Highlights: It's more important than ever for countries to come together to address global issues. Challenge yourself this summer to think and respond to issues from a different perspective. This two-week camp offers a crash course into the purpose and function of the United Nations and will finish with an age-appropriate Model UN simulation. Campers will be asked to think critically, research, debate and work on their communication skills. During the second week of the camp, campers will work alongside a partner to research and represent their assigned country in our Model UN simulation. No experience required!

    Highlights: Building and Taking Apart at its best! This week-long building skills camp will allow campers to develop hands-on skills using hand tools and machinery through project-based learning. Using pre-cut materials, campers will experience the six simple machines: the wheel and axle, the lever, the inclined plane, the pulley, the screw, and the wedge, to build their own “ultimate catapult.” Campers will also have the opportunity to (wait for it...) take apart or "break into" various electronic components and appliances and learn what each part does.

    Highlights: Step into a different reality of your own creation! Campers will use CoSpaces to create and code an AR/VR experience to share with others. They will learn the basics of block coding, as well as bringing in 3D models from other programs. Code, collaborate, use your imagination to immerse yourself into the experience!

  • American Sign Language (ASL) Level 1 (Virtual)

    Highlights: Campers will be introduced to Deaf Culture and basic American Sign Language Vocabulary ranging from the alphabet/fingerspelling, colours, numbers, animals, family members and more. They will learn how to recognize signs and respond back accordingly using simple sentences in ASL. All of the material learned will work towards a final project of giving a short autobiography in ASL.

  • American Sign Language (ASL) Level 2 (Virtual)

    Ages: 8-12
    Location: Online via Zoom
    Weeks Offered: July 19

    Highlights: This camp is designed for campers who have prior experience with American Sign Language or who have taken the ASL Level 1 Camp/After School program. Participants will focus on developing their conversational skills as well as their ability to understand and tell stories in American Sign Language. They will focus on learning and applying verbs as well as building more complex sentences through storytelling. A variety of stories will be watched and analyzed as a group, allowing the participants to solidify their ability to build more complex sentences. They will work towards being able to tell their own short story by the end of the camp.

  • French Camp (Virtual)

    Highlights: Immerse yourself in French! This one-week program offers campers the opportunity to continue developing their French language skills through interactive lessons, games, and activities. All four of the French language strands (listening, speaking, reading and writing) will be covered as we work to strengthen sentence structure, grammar concepts and pronunciation. This camp is a great way for kids to keep up their French language proficiency over the summer.
