Qualifies for Duke of Edinburgh's Adventurous Journey (Silver or Gold)

A challenging journey of self-discovery in the natural world.

Our sea kayaking adventure will take you through ocean waves along the Gulf Islands. In the evenings, after a day full of adventure, the group will debrief the day while sitting around a campfire. Talented and compassionate instructors will help create a supportive space to learn technical and personal skills to help students thrive in their community, school, and workplace. This unique trip will unlock true potential and help participants realize that they are capable of more than they think.

Highlights:
  • This journey takes place in the Gulf Islands mostly traveling around Salt Spring and Valdes Island.
  • Participants will travel in either solo or tandem fiberglass sea kayaks through class 2 water as outlined by the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of B.C.
  • Learn different paddling strokes, self and assisted rescue techniques, plus basic nautical navigation, including understanding tides, currents and weather.
Note: Trip details are subject to change.
