STUDENT LIFE    Modified Wednesdays

Throughout the school year, during the inter-school athletic season, the daily schedule for Wednesdays is modified.

Students in the Lower School will participate in a regular school day with no modifications to their timetable.

In the Middle School, all students not on a team participate in the Sustainability Project, in fact an array of specific projects and experiences designed to develop environmental sensitivity together with local, national and global awareness of the complex inter-relationships between communities and their surroundings.

For Upper School students, as well as interschool sports teams, the options include intramural sports or one of the leadership and outreach programmes. In the Intramural programme students may participate on the organizing committee, on a team, or as a referee. The Outreach programmes include tutoring students identified as "at risk " from inner city partner schools."

Students are encouraged, at the beginning of each year, to set goals in conjunction with parents and their mentors, to ensure that they experience a range of options in the Modified Wednesday programmes over the course of the year.
