Research
Crescent School continually strives to offer the best possible learning experiences for boys. It is of fundamental importance that we are aware of current research findings into how boys develop and learn. Crescent Student Services (CSS) regularly provides faculty with this information through professional development workshops and opportunities. The expertise of CSS staff is recognized globally and staff members are regular contributors to international conferences and meetings. Further, staff members offer professional development to outside stakeholders and lecture on topics related to boys’ education through university faculties of education, graduate schools, other independent schools and public education school boards.
In addition to disseminating the results of current research projects, CSS is actively engaged in a range of original research projects both in-house and through collaborative efforts with universities. CSS actively supports and works with university faculty and doctoral level students in pursuit of investigations that have application to educating boys. Currently relationships have been forged with the University of Toronto (UofT), The University of Western Ontario (UWO), York University, University of Pennsylvania, Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), UBC, Nipissing University, the TDSB (Toronto District School Board), and the International Boys' School Coalition (IBSC).
