The University Counselling Office is located on the second floor of the Manor and is staffed by Mr. Jeff Mitz, Director; Mr. Don Haag, Associate Director and Ms. Diane Groenke, University Counselling Coordinator. They may be reached through Ms Groenke at ext. 235, or by e-mail.

Jeff originally came to crescent as our new Head of Guidance in 2001 after 25 years of teaching in the public school system. He began his teaching career at Oakwood Collegiate in 1975, followed by one year at Central High School of Commerce and finally 23 years at Northern Secondary School. While at Northern, he was one of the developers of the comprehensive Enrichment Programme which later evolved into the Gifted Programme after 1984. Jeff has now been at Crescent for 6 years, and is the Director of our University Counselling Office.

Don Haag

Don came to Crescent School in 2000 after teaching history and politics at Albert College in Belleville, Ontario. Don is a Crescent alumnus - graduating class of 1986. He has held the roles of Head of Business Studies and Head of Upper School before taking on his current role as Associate Director of University Counselling. Don is the coach of Crescent's Senior Hockey and Senior Rugby teams and also works with our grade 11 House Captains. Currently, Don is teaching three courses - grade 12 Economics, and 2 sections of grade 11 Entrepreneurship.
