Middle School Philosophy
“Men of character from boys of promise”
The fundamental mission of Crescent School is: Men of Character from Boys of Promise. This begins in the Lower School and carries to the Middle School where our four core values of respect, responsibility, compassion, and honesty are practised daily in the classroom, on the sports field, in the arts, in our co-curriculars, and in all forums of community life.
In the Middle School, we celebrate our successes regularly, and address concerns immediately in home form and during our themed assemblies. Students are all actively involved as members of teams, involved in Sustainable Action Projects, in bands and choirs, in our annual Middle School play, or as a participant in an active weekly intramural program. Leadership is an important part of a Middle School education. Students act as Parent/Teacher Interview Secretaries, deliver daily announcements, coordinate assemblies, tutor younger students, or are members of the Middle School’s Green Bridge foundation. Our goal is to graduate confident, independent learners prepared for the challenges of a rigorous Upper School curriculum.
