Online Databases

The library provides the following databases for our students to use in the course of their research. This can be done on school computers or home computers.
  • PROQUEST contains over 1,300 full text periodicals covering all aspects of general reference including arts, business, humanities, health, social sciences and current affairs in addition to more than 70 major international English language newspapers from around the world.
  • ELIBARY CURRICULUM EDITION delivers the largest collection of periodical and digital media content specifically designed for K-12 schools. Students use the powerful, yet easy-to-use search interface to find the answers they need from more than 1,200 magazines, newspapers, books, transcripts, maps, images, web links, and audio/visual titles.
  • ACCESS SCIENCE covers the areas of science and technology with over 7100 articles, research updates, in-depth biographies, and weekly updates on breakthroughs and discoveries.
  • FACTS ON FILE REFERENCE SUITE includes World News Digest (coverage of historic events dating back to 1940), Issues and Controversies (deep back grounders on the most important current issues), Today's Science (latest developments in science, health and medicine, and technology, the World Almanac Database and the World Almanac Encyclopedia
  • CANADIAN PERIODICAL INDEX has full text articles from over 165 periodical and reference data taken from such Canadian sources as the Canadian Parliamentary Guide and The Native American Almanac
  • DISCOVERING COLLECTION provides thousands of overview essays, critical analyses, biographies and timelines in the five core subjects of history, literature, biographies, science and social sciences
  • CULTUREGRAMS goes beyond mere facts and figures to deliver an insider's perspective on daily life and culture of more than 182 different cultures, including history, customs, and lifestyles of the world's people.
  • AP SCIENCE is designed to support advanced placement and college-prep level science. Disciplines covered include earth, life, physical, medical and applied science.
  • WORLD CONFLICTS TODAY explores a growing set of protracted, unresolved conflicts that have important global implications.
