Crescent students may prepare to write as many as thirteen Advanced Placement examinations. The school plans to increase the number of AP offerings in the future as we find more and more students are choosing to pursue these world renowned courses. As of 2006 there are 156 AP schools in Ontario (versus 38 schools offering the IB Diploma). Students who successfully complete AP courses can earn university credits or placement into second year of university, in that subject. The AP policies of Canadian universities can be viewed at www.ap.ca . By offering AP courses Crescent is giving its students the opportunity to study at the highest level and in a global arena. The examinations are set and marked externally so students (and universities!) can see how they measure up against the best from around the world.
